03/24/20 Striving to Get You The Correct Information

Getting it right. Last night (Monday March 23, 2020) during the 7PM “Community Conversation” Dan Nelson, KPB Incident Commander, updated us on the newest test positive COVID19 case in the Sterling area. This brings the Kenai Peninsula current total as of today to four individuals that have the coronavirus: Seward (1), Soldotna (1), and Sterling (2).

Why didn’t Governor Dunleavy or Dr. Zink announce the latest Sterling case during the press conference last night? It was simply a matter of timing. The borough was notified, confirmations made, double-checked, and we were given the okay to release the information last night on Facebook @KPBalerts 7PM live stream.

Please note that it is important that we get it right so that you have the correct information to share. Thanks for your patience as we continue to strive to provide you updates each night 7PM on Facebook @KPBalerts. Join us on the “Community Conversation” with Dan Nelson, Borough Incident Commander, and Brenda Ahlberg, Information Officer.
