4:40pm. Last update for the wildland fire in Ninilchik

This is the last update for the wildland fire today in the area of Oil Well/Kingsley/Bluff road in Ninilchik.

 

Fast action earlier today by Ninilchik, Forestry, Anchor Point, and CES fire departments were able to keep the wildland fire from spreading, with evacuations conducted by the Alaska State Troopers.  Forestry reports the size of the fire was approximately 2 1/2 acres in size. No structures were lost. The evacuation order was lifted approximately 3:30pm.

Wildland fire evacuation order has been lifted

The wildland fire evacuation order for the Bluff drive area in Ninilchik has been lifted.

 

Wildland fire off Oilwell road in Ninilchik

A wildland fire is currently ongoing off Oilwell Road in Ninilchik. Forestry and Fire Departments are evacuating threatened homes. Please avoid the area if possible, and be mindful of emergency vehicles and give them the right of way. Anchor Point, CES, KESA, Forestry, and Ninilchik fire departments are on scene.
