8.2 Magnitude Earthquake 07/29/2021 Update

00:32 (07/29/21) ALL CLEAR: The tsunami warning has been UPDATED to an advisory status for coastal communities of the Kenai Peninsula. The sirens will sound ALL CLEAR, allowing citizens to return home. An advisory means strong waves or currents may be dangerous to persons in or near the water. 

00:00 (07/29/21) Homer High School is open for emergency sheltering. Warning and evacuation measures are still in place for coastal communities of the Kenai Peninsula, including Kachemak Bay and Resurrection Bay. 

This warning does NOT include any communities north of Anchor Point, north of Bear Creek, or the central peninsula communities.
