September 8, 2019 4:00 p.m. Swan Lake Fire Update

The last firefighters and their equipment are expected to be off the line at the Caribou Lake Fire this afternoon. On the Swan Lake Fire, some crews are demobilizing and excess equipment is being hauled back to be readied for the next fire or for winter storage.
A Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team has arrived to assess conditions on the Swan Lake Fire. BAER teams make a rapid assessment of how severely the fire has burned and make recommendations to prevent further, more costly damage to public lands and infrastructure.
This video clip explains a bit of the “backhaul” taking place at the Caribou Lake Fire. #swanlakefire #cariboulakefire
