09/07/2019 3:40 Hazards along Skilak Road

While patches of the landscape around Skilak Lake Road were unburned, there are still dangerous and widespread hazards as a result of the Swan Lake Fire. These hazards include trees with weakened and burned out roots, numerous trees across trails, trail surfaces with compromised terrain and ash pits. Some of these hazards are difficult to see but incredibly dangerous. Unfortunately, a portion of Skilak Lake Road will be closed for some time until these hazards can be mitigated. Please adhere to area closure signs.
