9/8/2019 – 12:00 PM - Swan Lake Fire Update

Crews are flying drones today near Engineer Lake as well as near the Fuller Lake Trail in search of hot spots. If heat is found near the line firefighters will take action to extinguish those areas of concern.
Fire crews who are flown into fires sometimes receive "food boxes" which are full of a variety of food items such as lunch meats, summer sausage, canned goods and other items that they can cook while they are isolated. The remaining food from the Caribou Lake fire that was unused was flown out and donated to the Homer Food Pantry.
