9/1/19 – 04:45 PM – Swan Lake Fire Operational Update

The Swan Lake firefighters have been working on suppressing hot spots along the edge of the fire, structure protection and fuels reduction throughout the day. Drones, operated by FAA-certified pilots assigned to the fire, are being used to safely and quickly survey large areas along the fire line. Using infrared technology, drone imagery can spot areas of heat that is not visibly burning and may not even be producing smoke.
