9/12/19 - 7:30 AM - Swan Lake Fire Information Map

A strong upper level low pressure system which has remnants of two tropical storms embedded in it will impact the fire area. Expect windy conditions and widespread rain, occasionally moderate, through Friday. There is a lot of uncertainty as to how this storm will specifically impact the fire area, but one half an inch of rain is likely. It could be a little less, or potentially a fair amount more. The fire behavior is predicted to be minimal today with very little fire spread. Continued smoldering and creeping fire spread in litter and duff will occur with isolated pockets of heat in open spruce cover could generate occasional single tree torching. Heat will remain in the deep duff, and heavy fuels. #SwanLakeFire
