9/1/2/2019 12:30 PM Swan Lake Fire Operational Update

This morning, minimal fire behavior has been reported with smoldering, creeping and occasional single tree torching.

Firefighters are making their way into areas to work on hot spots along the fire’s edge to strengthen and remove downed trees that are compromising the existing fireline.

The structure group in the Cooper Landing area continues to prep structures on the south end; and reduce fuel loading around structures by using chippers and a masticator.

Firefighters are installing hose lays and sprinklers along the Fuller Lake trail to cool down heat.

Mike Hill has years of experience as a wildland firefighter and is working on the Swan Lake Fire as Division E Trainee. He talks about ash pits in this video.
