The Swan Lake Fire is making a push south of the Sterling Highway, around the west side of Hidden Lake. There is not threat toward Sterling, Kenai Keys or Cooper Landing at this time. A specialized group that conducts burn out operations has been called in to assess the value of doing a burnout south of the highway to limit the fires spread. If it's done, it is expected to increase fire behavior and is likely to close the road soon (est 12:45p).
As a reminder, please drive with your lights on and be courteous and do not block private driveways.
