8/24/19 10:00 pm Sterling Highway Update

Saturday evening construction traffic delay at milepost 68 on the Sterling Highway.
The Great Basin Incident Management Team on the Swan Lake Fire Near Soldotna is anticipating a very active fire
day tomorrow. 

There is a high expectation that this will result in smoke on the road or increased firefighting activity which will likely shut down the Sterling Highway for much of the day between Mile post 53 and Milepost 71.

It is advisable stay off the highway Sunday, August 25th.
