As of 1219 PM today, the National Weather Service Anchorage, AK issued a Flood Advisory for Snow River, Kenai Lake, and the Kenai River from Cooper Landing to Skilak Lake until 1200PM AKDT Thurs Aug 22, 2019.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The Snow Glacier Dammed Lake is releasing at this time, which is an event that reoccurs every couple of years. Water levels on the Snow River are steadily rising and are reflective of previous outburst events. Expect a significant water level increase on the Snow River and Kenai Lake through the weekend. The 2019 impacts are expected to match the levels of the 2017 event.

Some locations that could experience flooding include: Primrose Campground, Cooper Landing, and Kenai Lake.
