08/29/19 @ 07:00AM Sterling Highway Update

The Sterling Highway remains open with one-lane pilot car MP 40-71. Thick smoke and fog are reported in lowland areas near the Kenai River and in Cooper Landing. Reduced visibility along the flats around Watson Lake area (MP 71-68). Drive with headlights on. Continue to prepare for long delays; pack food, water and some great tunes. Start your journey with a full tank of fuel. Be safe out there folks.
