8/30/2019 8:15 pm Despite The Fire, Kenai Is Open To Visitors

In contrast to the last week when travel on the Sterling Highway was strongly discouraged, things have changed with the weather.  While there are still delays on the highway at mp 40 and 71 and only one lane with pilot cars, travel along the Sterling Highway corridor is not a problem. Good news for those wanting to spend a holiday weekend on the Peninsula.

Labor Day weekend is upon us and its traditionally a big weekend on the Kenai Peninsula! Despite the Swan Lake and Caribou Fires, there are still many opportunities for you and your family to enjoy yourselves in the Kenai Peninsula Borough!
