The Swan Lake Fire is active near the Sterling Highway with aerial resources performing fire suppression efforts. Due to safety, the traffic will remain stopped from MP 53 to 71.
It is anticipated that fire operations will reevaluate the traffic delay in about 30 minutes. Check back for updates.
If you must travel on the highway, please be prepared with water and food. When traffic begins to move once again, please be courteous, drive with headlights on, do not block private driveways, and watch for fire equipment. Please remember, with the number of vehicles accumulated during the traffic delay, it may take some time for the number of vehicles to dissipate.
