8/30/2019 9:30 PM Caribou Lake Fire containment increases to 85 percent

On the evening of August 30, containment of the Caribou Lake Fire increased to 85 percent. The fire is being managed with a full suppression strategy with a goal of 100 percent containment by September 4, 2019. Crews will continue to hold and improve control lines until it is 100 percent contained. Firefighters will continue to patrol and monitor the fire until it is out.  Smoke may be visible from within the interior of the fire perimeter until there significant and repeated rain or snow.
