The Sterling Highway remains closed at the Y, at the intersection of the Sterling Highway and the Seward Highway. Those who are in Cooper Landing or east, can head east if they want to go to Seward or Anchorage. Those needing a place to stay can head to the shelter at Seward High School

Anyone needing a place to stay in Soldotna should head west toward Soldotna Sports Center where a shelter is open  Large animals can stay near the shelter at the rodeo grounds. At milepost 53, all lanes will be one way heading west.  You will not be able to come back for sometime.   At milepost 71, Watson lake, traffic will return to 2 way so be cautious.

The City of Soldotna has opened Centennial and Swiftwater Campgrounds for displaced people.
