8/19/19 8:30 am Sterling Highway closure
There is still no word on the opening of the Sterling highway. We hope to know something after 10 am so check back.
Haha! I second that. But for real, that wind wasn’t a surprise. It was in the forecast. The fire was close to the hwy on Friday. I know our fire suppression team is working like crazy (thank you!!!), but holy cow, who thought it would be OK to have only 19 people working this fire over this extremely hot (80 deg when I drove through on Fri), extremely dry, and extremely windy weekend?! If their models truly didn’t see this coming, ditch the models and hire me.
Well take your time lads, it's not like this is the only road in and out of the place.
