08/19/19 Swan Lake Fire Information Map with Updated Ready-Set-Go! Attributes

Swan Lake Fire Information Map has been updated to include the Ready-Set-Go! decision lines for affected neighborhoods. The eastern neighborhoods of Sterling and the community of Cooper Landing are currently in the Level 1 "READY" alert. NOTE: There is only a READY line for the Sterling area. Fire managers are working on the SET and GO lines which will be on future maps.

Cooper Landing - all neighborhoods have been placed in Ready status.

Sterling - the following neighborhoods have been placed in Ready status:
  • EAST of Feuding Lane to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge west boundary
  • EAST of Adkins Road to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge west boundary

A Level 1 (READY) alert is NOT a notice to leave. This alert means that you must be ready for potential evacuation. There is a fire in your local area. Assist family members with special needs, arrange to move mobile property (boats, trailers, ATV), and prepare pets or livestock. Monitor social media, news and radio for information, or call the Borough Call Center at 907-262-INFO (4636) for updates.

Emergency personnel may contact you via the emergency notification system KPB Alerts. All landlines are automatically registered in this system; however, you must register mobile phones. For additional information on the Ready-Set-Go! Evacuation Guidelines, please visit www.kpboem.com or call 907-262-INFO.
